As I was proceeding down the A697 last Sunday, I passed a sign for Ingram - a place where our Mam & Dad would take us for picnics, on Sundays, when we were nippers.
I decided I'd have to have ride - up, just for old time's sake.

So I was off-out at the crack of 11, up the A697 and turned off for Ingram

First stop: A ford I've done on me 650 before..

...but not today :blush

On up the valley:

...the valley is a dead end for motors, so I turned around and headed back...

Awful, isn't it? .....and so crowded :P

Crossed over the main road and headed roughly east for the coast.

Chatton Mast, where I've worked a few times when I was on "Private Circuits".

Can you see the coast in the distance? .....and signs of "civilisation" - A burned-out Hi-Lux on the right?

"Afternoon ladies!"

...then a quick blast down the A1 and home.

Time for a beer...

That's a beautiful part of Northumberland, I rode up there last year with Japseroony and it comes to a dead end:( I was sure yalcrabm knew a way through there that came out near the ranges.....but then again:nenau

I bet it'd be pretty straightforward if you were naughty: It was marked as a Bridleway where I turned around, but it was a reasonable tarmac, single lane road as far as I could see.

:nenau

Enjoyed that, we are lucky being surrounded by such beauty (and I'm not just referring to the sheep) best not let the southers types know though:thumb

You picked a nice day to go up to ingram Mr K. We go up for picnics in the summer and it is a sun trap in the valley. Mort you can get through if you go up the valley and take the road to the left. It is called salters road, follow it for about 3 miles you will only pass two houses till the tarmac stops, there is a track for about three fields which brings you out onto the forrest tracks you follow them for a while and it leads to the coquet valley road near barrow burn. That is the road me and Kelv took you up the coquet valley onto the ranges. I feel a trip coming on as it has been afew years since i have done that road
