Hi Gav58Bike

Great to read your thread......you sound very passionate about your new machine. For me thats what biking is all about getting out there on two wheels and enjoying yourself regardless if its for 50miles or 500, on a brand new machine or a £500 shed.
I ride a GSA 09 and to me its the best bike in the world:JB but still pop down the shops on my vespa and love it.

You guys with the new LC do keep us all up date what you think of the latest machine:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

For the guys that dont own a new LC....dont put negative comments on here as you just sound like a jealous dickheads you know who you are:forry:nenau

Maybe jealous is not the correct word, but the rest of it is spot on Nasher. I can't afford the new LC, but I still like to hear real owners reviews. :thumby:

:thumb2 I wonder if it means it's less "planted"?

I suspect that "planted" is a phrase used by the older, larger Tosser - any bike will feel planted with a 25 stone porker on board, so don't worry it will feel just as 'planted' as the old bike :D

ive got one of each an airhead and LC... I'm confused ,,,

do I slag myself off or praise me for buying an LC?? :D

Gents... in no way was I undermining the brilliance of the original GS. I was as passionate about my original 06 model as I am with the new LC and if I had to stick with the original I’d still be as happy as Larry. Plus, if I could afford to keep both, I would.

In 2004 when I owned a 1150GS, I remember reading how excited 1200 owners were with their new purchase’s, extolling the virtues of how things had moved on. Did I feel less fortunate?... NO.

To clarify...

‘Flickable’... the LC is more agile than the AC which promotes a faster turn in, not in a dangerous way, just quicker, giving a sense of ‘flicking it in’ the harder you countersteer. Has nothing to do with sticking your finger up your nose but you're welcome to try.

‘Build quality’... this runs deeper than mere ‘finish' on paint and materials... the gearbox is considerably slicker, clutch lighter, engine less vibey and drivetrain smoother, giving a sense the overall quality has moved on. Plus, BMW have I think done an excellent job on the styling. As we all know, build quality and reliability don’t necessarily go hand in hand with BMW, so only time will tell.

‘just 50 miles’... well it took me about 5 miles to conclude the LC is a brilliant bike. Perhaps others need more time. So what’s the problem?... take another test ride.

It doesn’t matter what we ride... we enjoy a common interest and like to share our passions and experiences with others. You’re welcome to disagree.

Meanwhile... have a great summer!

Well, it took me all of 25 miles .....

I will rephrase 25 smiles to realise many of the benefits the improvements as well as some failings that this new LC offers
...

and like all new toys,, the real character will only come out with use,,,

If no one is brave enough to try something new and then where would we all be?..

different strokes etc

But Bikes whatever they are make model size colour are brilliant ...but Thunder Grey ones are fastest..:augie

I always find it quite amusing that comments made on a new bike by people who HAVE ridden it are so often denigrated by people who HAVE NOT.

Now look here my man , Red is the fastest and I will seriously throw my teddy out the pram if you say otherwise. Anyway I've now forgotten how many sleeps until i pick mine up. Any more piss taking from you and I'm going to send my dad around your house so there:P
:pullface
:flag

I've hidden in the background reading all the banter whilst waiting patently for my GS to arrive. It was promised last week but finally arrived yesterday ready to be picked up today. However whilst I don't mind riding in the sh*t I thought disgresion the better part of valor as there is 2 foot of snow outside my abode at the moment so I'll be waiting until next week some time.

However I have a rather large confession to make!!!! I seem to be the only one to have:-

ORDERED A BLUE ONE :confused::rolleyes:

I guess I'm just going to have to tough it out and accept the abuse coming my way :hide

No abuse, just envy - I'd be delighted to have an LC parked in my drive in any colour.

Enjoy your new bike - what spec did you choose ?:clap

TE with all the trimmings (panniers, sat nav, Acro, tinted screen etc.) I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff :D and as a few have said "you can't take it with you" and sitting in a bank account only makes it decrease in value!

lucky boy :beerjug:

Don't worry bikerking you're not alone........ I ordered a BMW racing blue one this week. We are obviously confident in our masculinity :beerjug:
When I saw all four colours at the NEC I was torn between the white & blue.
Went to the dealers several times to look again, and just love the blue......

At least we will recognise our bikes in the bike park amongst the sea of red :thumb
and anyone riding a white one at the moment will not be seen at all !!

if us lot are raving about em now in this shit weather wait till we get some sun:D ive had 3 GS's GSA's and no question they are still great bikes but the new LC is in a different league and after 5 years of development it should be:aidan

Gone but not forgotten

May have changed to the new bike but thanks TC had a great time ..... new bike had better keep Rust ( the wife ) happy .....
