I've just ordered 36-litre Alpos bags from Caveman, and wondered if anyone had found a suitable inner bag as yet? Would be easier than removing the cases for an overnight.

These are the cheapest I've found

They're waterproof and have the added advantage that if you only fill one pannier with clothes you can keep your beer cool in the other one. :thumb

I had those in the house, if you want to be a bit of a poseur you could always get unmarked ones. :D

Personally I would never leave the panniers on at night. It only takes a matter of seconds to remove them, and eliminates the chance of someone trying to forcefully removing them or forcing a lid to "see wot they can steal"

I'll have to see how easy it is when I've got everything together, as I'm using H&B racks and Touratech mountings :nenau

I've posted this elsewhere in the forum but it does connect to this post aswell.

Those of you with the 36 litre metal panniers may be interested in some excellent waterproof liners.

I recently purchased some 45 litre waterproof bags/liners which fit the metal panniers perfectly. These bags are available from the aqua-quest.co.uk website for £13.99 inc P&P.
This is the sales description:
The multi-functional dry bags are the lightest and most durable in the industry. They must be good because they were used by the MOD during recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. For most people however, they continue to prove themselves in the outdoor, marine and watersport environment. Roll-down with velcro flap closure system.
Top opening D-ring attachments for optional lashing or straps. Heat taped watertight seam construction. Bar-tacked stress areas. Durable and abrasion resistant double coated TPU Ripstop nylon.
45 litre capacity. 63cm x 81cm. Available in black only.

However, Katie at Triton Scuba (owner of both websites) has kindly agreed to make these available to GS'er Forum members for £10 each inc P&P (UK). Now is that excellent value or what?

You must quote "UKGSer.com" with your order. Orders should be sent to [email protected]

..sounds like something written by someone who hasn't had first hand experience of the 'marvellous' kit supplied to our boys and girls in the forces...!

In the end I bought the KTM inner bags to fit the 640 Adventure cases - fit the Alpos boxes just fine, a little bit smaller so can get 0.5l bottles of water down the end etc :thumb
