Will be interested in seeing the reviews. Deciding whether to go the carplay/android auto route and think it may be between this and the Carpuride.

Could you do a side profile shot please, as I think the Innovv sits nice and flush in the GPS holder ? Where the carpuride is a little proud when placed in the holder.

My 2022 R1250GSA has the Garmin cradle. Does this fit into that cradle? Thanks.

sorry for delay here some side pictures. , looks quite slim

Can you please confirm that the unit has it's own, in-built, GPS receiver?
If so, does it run Android, or other operating system, independently and have it's own Apps for navigation (i.e. so you don't have to connect a mobile phone to it to navigate).

Everything in the blurb points to it being a dumb device. In other words, it simply replicates (mirrors) the app’s running on the phone. The phone will therefore provide all the ‘computing’ power and supply the GPS role for navigation.

That's what I thought, but I read somewhere, in a review of the pre BMW one a few months ago, that it has it's own GPS receiver giving it an advantage over others. My thoughts are, if this is the case, then surely it must have it's own App for SatNav and, therefore, it's own operating system. :nenau

If you look at the options, there’s a 10Ghz receiver available for an extra thirty squids.
The GPS position-fixing doesn’t appear to augment any mapping system provided by a third-party app; but…..
  • Optional GPS module includes compass display, real-time speed tracking, and latitude/longitude logging for accurate ride tracking

Edit to add:
Tired of mobile phone navigation? The N2 seamlessly connects with your mobile phone and supports mapping apps to make navigation more convenient.

Thanks, just what I needed to know, I missed the bit about it being an extra when I read the specs.

Since posting, I’ve reread the whole caboodle again…
Looks like there are two N2 versions, so be careful.
One N2 version is “BMW Display” which is compatible with scroll wheel, etc but has no mention of GPS-option, for £256.
The other N2 version appears to have more functionality (plus option of GPS-augmentation) for £196 but unsuitable for the BMW mount.

Talk about keeping things simple…..

I’m slowly starting to look for a replacement for my Zumo 660. Just about all the different things available are much, much more complicated. Making things more complicated is not progress in my book.
There has been some great advice from on here though. The Garmin XT looks to be the way forward for me. None of this buying new planning systems, changing to GPX whatever that is, exporting, importing 1.1, using different conversions etc.
currently it's draw a route on Basecamp and send to device. Job done. The XT seems to be able to carryout this simple task.

Not that this helps particularly, but I contacted Chigee about their AIO6 having a built-in GPS. They told me the GPS data is encoded into the dashcam video files - but if you don’t opt for the cameras, there’s no way to get GPS data out from the device (although they’ve implied they’re looking into other ways).

no built in gps it is only an apple or android play

Got this unit so I can create map routes in mra and then use whatever maps I want .
using car play I find google maps far better than car navigation , and Garmin based navigation. Yes the down side you have to use your phone and if your phone goes dead you have lost your navigation
but if your navigation unit goes dead your non the same boat. Also seems to make Bluetooth pairing easier as you are only pairing your head set to the phone not multiple devices.
Agree maybe not for everyone but other than my trusted nav6 for the price hopefully will prove ok

I'm a litte confused at the info here. The new 1300 bikes have GPS. So surely these Nav systems simple pick up GPS date along with all other data from the bikes network once its connected to the mount.
