Men and Women of Ireland :aidan,

Any recommendations gratefully received:

I am attending a work event in Dingle. I have booked the ferry so I arrive early in the am the day before, giving me all day to cross towards the SW, and stay somewhere so that getting up in the morning for a short onward hop to Dingle itself isn't too tricky.

My guess so far looking at bestbikingroads.com is something along the lines of:

1. Towards Waterford - either N25 for speed or R736/R733, breakfast in or around Dunmore or Tramore.

2. Towards Dungarvan via R675.

3. Either bomb over towards Killarney via N72, or N25 to Cork and then on to N71 for an inspeckshun of either Sheep's Head or Beara peninsula

4. Find campsite/B&B/cardboard box in place 1-1.5 hr from Dingle (Killarney?).

5. Go to pub. Drink .

6. Get up, eat breakfast, ride to Dingle.

Any thoughts, ideas, don't misses etc etc gratefully received. Feel free to point out if I am being hopelessly optimistic with fitting all that in.

I have another full day to ride back and stop near Rosslare before sailing early next morning so can do something similar on way back. Easy about returning via south coast or seeing stuff inland.

Many thanks,
Sean

When you get to Dingle continue and do the complete loop of Slea head, thats where it really is, Dingle is a kind of a tourist trap, Slea head, Ballyferriter included is the hidden gem, id recommend you do an overnighter there

Noted, thanks :thumb2

Overnighting elsewhere impossible as will be staying in official meeting hotel in Dingle. Was planning an early morning or evening spin around Slea Head, best I can do in time available. Will make a point of checking out Ballyferriter.
