Installing Mapsource on a second PC

I have tried to install a copy of City Navigator NT on my laptop in addition to my PC . I have put in the 25 digit code, but when I try using it, I get an error message saying access is denied.

Can I only use Mapsource on one PC?

mapsource and your CN mapping can be installed on multiple PCs.

i don't know why yours is problematic though.

I have it on three different PC's.

Contact Garmin and / or or check that you have not entered the code incorrectly.

where exactly do you get the access denied?

DO you get the error when you start mapsource or when you try to transfer some maps to your GPS?

If its when you start mapsource I would try the installation again.

I went through the Mapsource install procedure last night, I get a "access denied" mesage when trying to open mapsource. It will then open but with no Map just a load of grey squares.

I followed the unlock wizard and registered with Garmin and put in the product code the 25 digit unlock code and the serial number etc. I now have an account with Garmin but when I look I have NO products registered to me nor maps, if I try to register the Zumo it says "Product already registered".

Do I have to try a reinstall (I have noticed in a Wapping post that you have to delete registry garmin items)

HELP please.

Is the unit second-hand, or new?

Either way, speak to Garmin. They'll sort you out.

For others, Mapsource & Maps can be installed on any computer (inc. Macs now ). You can easily upload unlock codes from your unit to the PC, and unlock maps that way.

It's new (bought second hand as new) all the boxes and software were unopened. The install went through perfect first time (no error messages) only when I tried to open mapsource did I get dialogue box with option to cut and paste error code and send to garmin, which I did so I guess I have to wait for Garmin.

Slightly off topic ,but if you want to unistall Mapsource and remove the registry keys with out using regedit ,use the free Revo uninstaller and select a moderate or advanced mode .

Do I need to update (Ithought latset one was pants)

My Map on-line now shows the Europe map, and my Zumo is now showing as registered, However if I open Mapsource it still shows squares, distinctly mapless.

Again any advice please.

Sorry sorted now, got to deselect the "no map" and tick the map box.
