Installing Remus hexacone on F8GS

Hi all.

Yesterday I installed the beautiful looking Remus Hexacone Ti. But when installing, I could not get the holes on the bracket to line up properly with the two bolts on the slip-on and the one on the bike. Had to push hard on the exhaust to line it up, and now it is mounted under tension. And I'm afraid it might rupture the metal housing after a time use. I used the bracket and two bolts that came with the slip on, and the original BMW bolt, big washer and metal spacer that was on the original silencer.

Has anyone experienced the same or know if I'm doing something wrong. The snow is soon gone and temps are rising here in Norway, so pretty eager to get out soon...

Hi Martin,

I had the same problem when fitting the exhaust. It does not fit spot on.. I solved the problem by extending the bracket holes 5mm each. Dont want to put any tension on the rest of the pipes.

Note the rivet in the middle hole. Its supposed to be inside the hole.

This does not look ok, Im going to try to twist the exhaust some more to see if it helps, its a pain doing so. If its not helping I have to get a washer thats 25-30mm to fix it.

I took a short ride with the db killer removed. Wow, what a sound! It looks a lot better than the huge stock can.

Thanks for the reply and the good pics, Tobias. I solved most of the tension problem by loosening the the bolt next to the cat, under the bike. But I still have that rubber bushing migrate out of the bracket that I can see on your pictures also.

Have not taken out the killer yet, is it just that one screw at the end? Allready love the sound, but could be a bit louder. Have to try without the killer this weekend.

I'd of done what Tob has done, extend the holes by drilling along the guide from the correct hole position.

I have the hexicone on mine with the baffle out. It sounds awesome!! I didn't have the same fitting issue though, mines mounted through the pannier rail.

If removing the baffel, be aware the securing screw is held in place with a tiny blob of weld, so don't round off the head of the bolt wondering why its so tight, just dremmel the bead of weld off first. Don't ask how I know that
