Instead of a Mudsling maybe?

Mine arrived today fitted in minutes.

You have to wonder why it is not already fitted by BMW.

Be aware that you may get caught for import duty and VAT which cost me and extra £18 from parcel force this morning:eek:

A great deal of interest BUT nobody yet has said that they have fitted one and it made any difference, even if it looks good;

When it shows attempted delivery, it means you should have a letter sent to you. Parcel Force hold the package at the depot, pending the additional £17.60 for customs etc. Check with you local depot. I got a letter stating the fact that the package would not be released until the extra cost had been paid

There's a thread on ADV Rider were someone has made their own mudsling.it looks good and he says it works well,he gives measurements and diagrams only trouble is it's made from old conveyor belt material and I've never been able to find any or come up with a suitable alternative
Sorry I don't know how to put a link in to the thread.

I had a NN mudslinger on a previous 1200GS and it worked a treat. I have just ordered one of these off Fleabay for my 1200GSA with the ESA thingy. When it arrives there will be a very nice Carbon Hugger for sale?:augie

Fitting the splash guard was easy. It fits very well and makes a big difference to the amount of water that gets thrown up onto your boots/left leg.

A year ago I got some 8mm neoprene to make up a DIY guard as per the ADVrider post which WrinkleyOwley mentions. The Maier splash guard looks and works better.

The part cannot cost more than £3 a unit when bought in bulk. I don't understand why BMW do not make this standard equipment.

I may have dropped a b****k here:confused:
Having read the AD on Fleabay I understood the Maier splash guard to fit either with or without ESA, however reading an earlier post it seems they do two versions........I have e-mailed them to confirm this, but it seems that if I have made a mistake there may well be a 'mudslinger' as well as a hugger in the 'For Sale' section....We shall have to wait and see?

Just to clarify the point, I have received an e-mail this morning from Ron at Ilium stating that the Maier Splashguard will fit either with or without ESA.:augie

Dumb question (fire retardant clothing ready...)...

Will this fit with a hugger in place ? I understand the idea is to preclude the use of a hugger......but thought the added protection might be useful ?
