Instead of a Mudsling maybe?

Just to clarify the point, I have received an e-mail this morning from Ron at Ilium stating that the Maier Splashguard will fit either with or without ESA.:augie

Ditto, I emailed Ron too

Item arrived yesterday after having paid an extra £17 import. (Still a hell of a lot cheaper than a TT)
Fitted in 5 mins....and does the job....Good stuff.!:)

I have a 2010 Adv with ESA. I have my Ilium which looks simple to fit. On offering it up, I cannot decide whether I need to remove the small splash guard on the shock or leave it in place.

Any advice please ?

Yorkie, my bike doesn't have ESA so YMMV: I left the OEM splash guard in place. There's enough clearance and after 2,000 miles there are no signs of contact between the two.

Leave it in place. Have done on my mine with no problems at all. :thumb2

There's a thread on ADV Rider were someone has made their own mudsling.it looks good and he says it works well,he gives measurements and diagrams only trouble is it's made from old conveyor belt material and I've never been able to find any or come up with a suitable alternative
Sorry I don't know how to put a link in to the thread.

Steve

Yep - I used his advice and made myself a very effective mudsling.

The proof of its efficacy can be seen on this thread

and the manufacture and fitting HERE

Oh and the price - dont cry now all you fleabay/USA buyers -

90p plus about an hour of my time. :clap

Achim and Polecat - Thank you for the advice - appreciated.
Peter
