I had a quote for the bike that included £1100 OF extras being sw motec lower bars, bmw spots, alloy cylinder covers & 2 panniers. Although I have included them within my quote I was told in the event of a total loss I will only get the value of the bike as standard on extras.

I then asked the question regarding the factory fitted extras and again only the value of a standard bike would be given, this guy was quite adamant to the point of being rude. Too late tonight to ring the underwriters so what the view from you guys, has he got it wrong !!

my ebike policy indicates that accesories will be replaced on a like for like basis, there are some cop outs for parts that are not available etc but even then they will buy the best equivalent for up to the same original value

when you apply on line there is a section where you tick off any fitted extras or other mods so i would assume that you need to declare it to get it, i stuck my full pannier set on and it added a few pounds to the premium

sounds like what you want or similar?

I have about 15 or so seperate extra's logged on my Carole Nash policy. It did take about an hour on the phone to go through everything with the CN bod trying to get me to sign up for the policy, but they will jump through hoops when they are fighting for your business. Total additional value on top of the basic bike was a few quid under £3.5K. Got it all listed in writing as well. 10% added onto the premium - about £20.

Ebike.

Rock and a hard place.

If you dont declare the extras fitted you may not have any cover especially if the mods affect the proformance. Speaking from experience Ebike paid out on the basic price on a written off GSA and at least £1000 less than expected. I discussed it with the person handling the claim they waived the fact the remus end can, keihan headers and various other extras were fitted.
Under the circumsatances this was not taken further.

Just get another quote from somebody else. Repeat until you are happy.

Sad but true!

Loyal customers are trash, new customers get the VIP treatment

Never put your insurance on auto-renewal & just swap every year.

They have made it this way & not us! :beerjug:

Would you rather that was no choice or one (high) price for everyone?

I would prefer Bennetts to take into account my 22 years loyal, claim free payments and trust them not to TRY and double my premium because I put it on auto-renewal. :beerjug:

The cheeky bastards have now "invited" me to give "feedback" as to where they went wrong?
