Insurance- Green Card and travel insurance for Morocco list

Thanks Number 6 , take your point yes, and will just try and get it at the border once customs etc out of the way... and look into who covers such trips properly next time my annual insurance is up for renewal!! sadly not BMW!

If you're going in via Ceuta there is no longer an insurance office at the border. The nearest is in Tetouan, a quick search on here should find Tim Cullis's post with the address of the office.
Tangier Med has insurance once through border formalities and is definitely the quickest, smoothest way into Maroc. If I remember correctly it is approx 35 Euro for 10 days or 90 for a month.
With the normal hassle getting through the formalities at Ceuta it is almost always quicker now to go Tangier Med then ride over the tops to Ceuta if that was the route you had planned:thumb2

There was an insurance place just outside the gates at the old Tangier port but haven't been that way since the opening of Med so not sure if it's still there.

thats a shame as yes planing going in via cueto, seemed the more civilised option rather than tanger...but maybe not from what you say! anyway im sure ill get it somewhere! Thanks!

Maybe if it's Neils first trip he should go through Ceuta to get a feeling of the excitement and trepidation of how it used to be, after all it is North Africa. It sounds like Tangier Med has gone all European:(

How it used to be .... Ceuta used to have currency exchange and insurance up until a couple of years ago :D

Man you guys in the UK get ripped you should see the list of places we can go on are insurance .
Morocco is one of them with 26 others and we don’t even have to inform are agents
Yes we do pay a little more but not £ 76.00 for three weeks :nenau

That’s well over a £1000 a year for what we get for free none of this 90 day shit :blast

What the up to date situation with getting green card insurance in the UK for Morocco?

I bet the Germans don't have this problem.

I phoned Carole Nash for a quote last week. The premium was double my normal renewal quote and I was told there are only 2 companies that will supply a green card for Morocco, Aviva and AGES. All told, the insurance policy was £300 for the year fully comp with an additional £31 for the Green card. In real terms that works out £181 for the privilege of getting it in the UK. I would be interested in how that compares to getting it in Morocco. For 2 weeks I imagine it works out more expensive but does the difference make up for the saving in hassle?

Aviva charged me nearly £ 35 for 8 days last year. I hate insurance companies, allmost impossible to get a straight answer from them, or cover for places like Morocco or Kosovo. Even hod one that would not tell me where I would be covered for until after I had taken out the policy. The one conpany I did find last year, name escapes me, that would cover me for everywhere including Afganistan, Beruit, Lybia....every war torn hole in the world........but excluded Rochdale where I live as the risk was too high.
