bmw motorrad insurance .... wanted £320 (FC)....carole nash quoted me £210 (FC)....
32yr old on 09 GS...
BMW now includes legal expenses and up to £1000 for kit
- I stuck with BMW even though it has risen slightly - but only costs about 50% of what you are paying; but there again I am older and don't live in a dodgy area and keep the bike in a garage![]()
My renewal came in nearly £300 more expensive than what I'm paying now.
few minutes on the meerkat and am looking at £310 FC.
Carole Nash came in at £1030!
Renewed mine yesterday
I think I am an old git £118 for 2 bikes with Ebike.
Carole Nash came in at £310.00, rang Devitt and got it for £141.00 FC which was through BMW Mottorad.
An old bloke like me, 49 years, for FC on a multi bike job: 900 Divi GSA ( 08) Came in @ £137
37yr old, village in country, on the drive - BMW Insurance £257.
£149 FC - Swinton
£198 FC with claims protection from BMW Motorrad. Covers two bikes plus all the extras I have added to the GSA
Try e-Bike insurance. My GS & Harley fully comp for £132.56 last year. OK I'm pushing 60 and live in the country,
for e-bike for my GSA
I am 30 years old, garaged bike = £190 (14 years NCD)
£97 with Hastings! FC, PNC.
Renewal at Carol Nash came in at 288 FC for 09 GS1200. After comparison sites I managed it for £105 through a broker with NIG. Went back to Carol Nash and got them down to £170 with all bells and whistles
£110 plus IPT.
R1200GS, parked on street. Fully comp, protected NCB. £350 excess. 49, IAM test passed. 5 years NCB. Underwritten by NIG.
Auntie Carole - £280.
eBike £195.
I got £360 for GS and Harley (with agreed value) on same policy (FC protected) Motorrad wanted £162 this year (FC protected),
BMW quoted me £450 fc for a 2010 GSA full options incl alarm! I live in London, biked is garaged (low 6k miles/year) and I have 9 yrs no claim
I've been raped I think! - EBike 2nd year (just renewed) - 12 months on a full bike license (09 GSA), 35 yrs old - no claims - £460.00!!!!!!!!!
Folks, my error - total premium is 369.83.
1. I have no criminal convictions or a criminal record as long as your arm, but thanks for asking Wapping.
2. I live in a very low crime rate area - there are no alleys of pikeynickyyourbikeys around here.
3. Loss record - zero.
4. Policy is FC.
5. Excess is £275.00.

Drofsereb - FYI - I did spend approx 2 hours shopping around on my PC and I found that there was little in it with rivals to EBike.
I am assuming my just over 1 year on a full bike license is having a lot to do with it - it dropped from >640.00 from when I got a policy with EBike just after I got my full bike license.
As for complaining - nope - I don't really give a s**t so long as I am riding my 1200GSA, legally![]()

the only thing the carole nash insurance doesn't seem to include is kit cover...
no payout if not locked away between certain times with garage
Mate there's lots of people on this thread - don't assume that my one comment was aimed at you personally. There are others who 'couldn't be bothered' etc, and that's fine. I had no idea if you checked other insurers or not, but I didn't assume you hadn'tAgain, as far as complaining goes, not you personally - what you said was a statement of fact. Other posts didn't have the same tone. No slur or personal attack intended, I was equally trying to state a couple of facts without necessarily getting personal.

I don't think Drofsereb meant it as a snipe at you. Probably just an untidy 'quote and cut', nothing more.
As regards value? Raped was the word, was it not? But never mind.

-
It was - as in the original (incorrect) figure I stated, which I corrected. Now, its more of a man-handling as opposed to a full on butt-f**king by EBike![]()
