Interesting Airhead for sale

That's essentially a standard bike. They've chopped the rear of the subframe, changed the exhaust and seat. Fitted dellortos. The main thing that makes that look different is the colour scheme.

You might have expected a stand for that sort of money, but then maybe that bag on the back is to carry the floor jack!

Just the usual pile of infantile crap, waste of a good bike and worth less to most rider than the original bike , and that is about a quarter of what they are asking.

I thought blimey they're all being a bit harsh, but then I saw the price...
It's being sold by Fabrice Rude. She sounds like my sort of gal!

Easy with the criticisms here, the bikeshed has developed quote a cult following amongst the more well groomed urban fashionistas of this very forum. Don't ruffle their wax cotton Belstaff jackets or cause them to need to return to the coiffure parlour prematurely :augie

Well I like its style - dont know owt about the quality of the braking though
I would ride a bike like that and bugger what the experts say
Also it looks a relative cheap thing to copy - which suits me as well

I'm not a fan anyway but it would look a total heap parked next to this

Seemingly, it's 'infantile crap' that actually sells...

Just look who the 'market sector leaders' appeal to.

Bolstering the fragile ego's of middle aged men...

Yip, and the waste of a lot of good bikes in a fashionista orgasm... Take all the good bits off, add some crap and sell it for a fair bit more... See also Steptoe's critique of the overblowing of the whole market... And WTF prey tell will all these bitsas be worth when the Coffee and coiffure cult shits itself and the chosen ones and many hangers on move on to other things...

Fuck all... and we'll have lost the 'stock' bikes for good!

The same thing is happening with the 'big block' Guzzi's.

It really pisses me off :blast

I'm not sure what the difference is between these bikes and the project bikes that a lot of inmates ( inc me) in here are working on -we are bastardising airheads for various reasons. Blokes have been customising bikes since Adam was a pup some good, some abysmal. The increase in value of airheads only shits me when I want to buy another one but when I'm selling...............:clap

I'll be scared to post a pic of my 'White Elephant' when it's finished

Couldn't agree more....although I've kept my R100RS more or less standard! :augie

It's a tough question; in one way of course I agree, people have always customised bikes, and that's a good thing.

But what gets me is a). re. the bikes - the fact that 'when they're gone, they're gone', and they can't be got back.

b). it's so slavishly 'fashion led'... But hey, each to their own! I just love the big Guzzi's and Airheads, as they are.
