Intermittent cut out.

Happened to me a couple of times the dealer put on new throttle and did the 10 k service and wouldn't start properly when cold took it back and all the bikes they had in stock had the same problem. Friday did another software update all good starts on the button and does not stall runs real smooth

mine went in for throttle synch to address this .

seems to be resolved for now

.

Just asking to see if anyone else is having/has had an intermittent cut out on the LC R1200GS.

No rhyme or reason found so far, just pull the clutch in to shift up or down, and the engine dies.

Starts on the button fine after that, but starting to become inconvenient and dealer has tried a few things with no luck as yet.

Just me?

I had it few times on mine. It usually happens to me while on 1st gear rolling in slow traffic when suddenly I want to accelerate.

Thanks for all the replies. After going into the dealer 5 times for their attempt to resolve it, eventually I rejected the bike and they've given me a new 2014 model.

This one is also faulty, as the electronic preload on the rear doesn't work, and I now have a 7 day wait while they ship me one from Germany.. but, at least it hasn't cut out! (Yet.. ever the optimist).

I run mine on posh petrol because it runs more smoothly and costs the same per mile as plain unleaded.

I had a new car that stalled very easily due to the tight engine. Maybe some new LCs are similar and need to be properly run-in. Over-gentle treatment will make it a permanent problem.

I prefer posh petrol in my LC too - why buy an expensive bike and feed it crap fuel ;)

Just for clarity, I've never run it on anything less that 98, and it was what I'd consider to be "properly run-in".. I found I got better mileage from the posh petrol.

Why buy a bike that's designed to be 'unstoppable' for RTW trips that WILL require lower grade fuel, and accept that you HAVE to put 98 Ron in it? :blast

You're worse than an Apple fanboi, seriously!

That's what I thought Bill. I'm sure most supermarket petrol stations sell high octane fuel though;)

I've noticed no difference in MPG between normal and posh petrol. Seems to go a bit quicker, but that could be the placebo effect.:nenau

There was a distinct difference in performance when I used 98 octane in my old TC, but I notice no difference on the LC model :nenau

I don't HAVE to use it, I just do cos it's posh :D

I'm not sure its the octane rating more so the brand additives...here in the US you do not want to use Shell the LC will run like shite, Quiktrip and some of the others are ok , however Chervon with techron is the fuel of choice.
