Intermittent oil temperature gauge

Hi all,

2001 R1150GS

My Oil temperature VDO display intermittently goes off to reveal no bars at all and then comes on.

Anybody else had this problem and knows possible causes/solutions?

BTDT!

Before your engine cuts out altogether due to over enrichment, loosen the tank and move it back enough to follow the wire from the sensor on the top right hand side of the engine (underneath the tank) and you should find an inline connector about the middle of the bike.

Disconnect this and clean the contacts. That fixed it for me after SPC and thier computer could find nothing wrong
