Hi Folks,
Chris here from Down Under (Australia). I have been given an Interphone Avant and cannot make the Voice Command function work. I have checked that I have the latest firmware installed and have downloaded the Intgerphone App to my Samsung S25 Smartphone. I can confirm that Bluetooth is connected, that the headset microphone is working, that the unit is fully charged, that I am using the nominated voice commands as per the instruction manual and that the language is set to English. I have tried many variations to the way I issue the commands viz volume, tone, breaks, etc with no success at all.
Would really appreciate your thoughts as I am pulling out whatever hair I have left over this issue. As a newby to this forum I trust I have posted correctly.

Try it with another phone first. If its working with that you know its OK and there's an issue with the connection to the Samsung. If not try a factory reset, there are probably instructions on how to achieve this on the interphone website and start again.

Really appreciate your suggestions. Will try and let you know how it goes.

Hi Mzokk
Well I tried using another phone with some success so I believe the head unit is in good order. Surprisingly I went for a ride yesterday and for whatever reason the voice commands (some of them) worked with my Samsung S25 as intended. I can only guess that voice voloume, distance from mic or sensitivity to background noise all play a part in performance. That is not to say that the issue is totally resolved (eg Radio is not connecting when using voice command) but certainly getting there - for whatever reason.

Thanks for your help

I had an Avant and found it was difficult to get many of the extra features to work. I gave up in the end

Hi stever1
Got your response thanks. It seems to me that the Avant Model Interphone is short on instructions and troubleshooting information. I have also found contradictions when seeking information from the web. The Avant is good quality and the sound is very good. It is possible to get by using the buttons but voice control would be better.

Cheers

I’m of the opinion that most of the problems are down to it being a 2 chip/channel system ( more to get wrong).
In the end I just used it as a simple intercom and didn’t bother with all the add ons.
Be aware when you turn it off it doesn’t always turn both circuits off, so battery goes flat quickly.
It’s a good intercom, but the tour model was FAR better.
The more modern inter phone models just went downhill from there, so I changed to a better brand.

I also have the Tour Model as well and I agree this is a very good product.

All,
Thought it right and proper to wrap up this issue. Decided to use the buttons rather than worry about the voice commands. I will revisit this issue when I feel inclined but for now I am beyond worrying any more.
Thanks to those who provided suggestions.

Chris T.
