Anyone fitted an Interphone F5 to a Schuberth C3??

Instructions aren't at all clear about where to stick the adhesive pad... I guess you need to avoid the moulded ridge on the side of the helmet

Hi Richo, sorry to hi jack the thread, how are you finding the f5? It's my first bluetooth headset after using a wired Autocom system for the past four years. The advantage of not having to plug in is obvious but I am am liitle disappointed with the sound quality/volume and the fm radio reception is poor.
I have bought some lower attenuating ear plugs ,which has addressed the volume issue somewhat.
Are you using a sat nav with the headset,if so,which model?
Thanks

I've been using autocom for about 10 years ,and decided as my old PRO AVI unit packed up I'd get into the 21st Century and go wireless... anyway... got the F5 kit home, and one of the charging leads was U/S so it went back. They then replaced it and I set it all up in our helmets yesterday...and had no end of trouble finding radio stations, but managed eventually to get Radio 1 on them, albeit crackly.

Ride out today about 100 miles and the bloody things drove us up the wall...

the voice over 'intercom connected' then 5 mins later 'intercom disconnected'

Couldn't get the radio to come on unless the engine was off.. couldn't hear any satnav voice prompts even on max volume above 40mph, music was staccato and unclear.. and when the music was on couldn't get to speak to SWMBO unless I disconnected and re-connected it....

So the whole lot went back this afternoon and I got a refund

Now looking at getting an Autocom to replace the Autocom that gave up the Ghost .

Looks like to make the thing work you need a lot of luck and the patience of a saint with an astrophysics degree

Bryn,

I had autocom for several years but decided to go wireless. I bought the scala G9 and I find it works much better than autocom. I use it with zumo 550. Mp3 from zumo is only mono but I find it acceptable on the bike. The scala FM radio has 6 presets which can be programmed very easily using the PC interface. The radio also has RDS so the station re-tunes if the signal becomes weak. Not all stations work but stronger signal stations are no problem and I find they work well. GPS instructions and phone via zumo are perfect with plenty volume. Not tried the intercom yet.

Bryn,which satnav are you using?

Zumo 660.... the issue I have is that when I touched the satnav screen the intercom disconnected, and then I couldn't talk to swmbo.... the main thing I need comms for is so I can have a chat when I want to without faffing about....

I want music up to about 80 mph ( also the bluetooth stuff won't stream music to both units at the same time I believe)
Talk to the MRS when I want to, and get clear satnav prompts... none of these things happened with the interphone

I'm worried about buying another bluetooth set up in case I have the same problems ....I just don't want hassle pairing and pressing buttons every time we get on and off the bike

The scala will stream music from zumo 550/660 but like all of the bluetooth headsets I believe you can only pair the gps to just one bluetooth headset not your pillion as well. On scala if you have vox turned on you just use voice command "Call Intercom" to open voice channel to pillion. I think it stays open until long silence.
