Probably in the office. Again.
Anyone got a link to a set on the web - trying to work out how to get the visor off for cleaning, and I really don't want to bust anything... :thumb

Keep chinbar closed. Open visor to fullest extent. With the lid facing away from you, grasp the visor with both hands at the lowest point on either side. With the heel of your palms on the rear edge, push forward with the heel of the palm and rotate backwards and upwards.

When they're new and a bit stiff or if you don't whip it out often (ooer missus!), you might find doing one side at a time the easiest using the free hand to steady the lid.

Don't be afraid to use a bit of force.

First time I did it my heart was in my mouth. Now I can swap visors or convert the lid to open face with peak in a few seconds.

To remove the chinbar, similar action except that with the visor off, the chinbar can rotate upwards to a second detent position, then push forwards on each side. Worth doing every so often as a little Vaseline on the hinges keeps the action smooth.

Thanks Mike, I've been wrestling with mine for a while, came straight off after reading that :thumb

Sounds like "A bit of force" was open to Interpritation... :)
"A bit of force" was just what it needed - I just used rather too much force! Arse - that's my Arai sidepod and the System IV visor both gone west in a week. Looks like I'll be wearing the open-face tomorrow. That's gonna be cold

Warning!

It is VERY easy to break off the tiny black plastic sprung lugs off the bit where the visor slides in on these things - crap design if ever there was - make sure you get the angle right on exit/re-entry, and don't force it.

Now why does that sound familiar?

Of yes - non-synchro gear boxes. Probably. :eek
