quite an inventive description to sell what is obviously an ex off road schools bike !!

I would not have seen that as an ex school bike - what is the giveaway?

Any owner using the bike on lanes could pick up scratches on the crash bars.

The number plate.
All BMW press and ORS bikes are registered at one place. They all come with the RV prefix.
Plus, the ORS plates all have the tag number and model on them as can be seen.

But the plate is an RJ prefix :nenau

One thing you can never hide on an ORS bike is the dirt ingress everywhere. It's in all the nooks & crannies. It can never be removed unless the bike is stripped right down which dealers are never going to do (n)

I've seen some absolute shockers being sold at dealerships. Their only saving grace being their lowered price and the remainder of the Motorrad Warranty :thumby:

But would the warranty be honoured on a bike which had been used at an off road school.

the original add that i posted at the start of this thread has been taken down and its re advertised with over 3k knocked off the buy it now price, in the original add it was stated that it was registered to BMW and used as a "show bike" ,, another giveaway is all the ORS ex bikes were fitted with new bridgestone a41 when they were being sold on,
i guess the thing that irritated me was the fact it was being described as a show bike rather than admitting it was an ORS bike, now the price is more realistic starting price auction too so fair enough , prob not a bad buy at the starting price,

Lovely colour scheme in fairness. Few more years and these will be in my price range to replace my 1200. Rallye with the gold wheels, striking for a GS.

Are the ORS bikes still offered for sale to the public? I remember some years ago they always dropped the previous year's bikes...

They were fitted with the tyres they were built with.
First thing ORS do is remove them and fit Karoo’s. The original ones go back on before they get auctioned.

No. They go to auction through Icee organised by ORS themselves now on behalf of BMW.
They used to be shipped back and then auctioned to bidding dealers.
IF you are an authorised buyer on the platform then you can bid obviously but it’s not available to the general public.
