Hi all

I am the Treasurer of Yorkshire Section BMW Club, on their forum there is a thread doing the rounds, on BMW Club members accepting club members arriving on bikes other than BMW.

A guy from the North East who is a member of the GS Club, has commented that the BMW Club should be inviting GS members to BMW events. As I am a member of the GS Club I don't want to be seen as pushing the BMW Club on your site.

There is an open invitation to anyone on two wheels to attend the Yorkshire Section first Sunday in the month meet at Cracoe Village Hall 12.00 - 14.00pm. Just off Skipton to Grassington Road B6265.

There is usually, a wide selection of bikes in the bike park, including vintage bikes if they are having a run round they usually call in for a bacon butty and a cup of tea.

We don't stand on ceremony, everyone welcome.

I am posting this invitation to North, North West, Yorkshire and Peak District areas.

Moderators, if this isn't acceptable please delete.

kind regards

Dutchman aren't you being a bit bitchy :)

If you are and when you come to the village hall I will be bitchy and ask why the hugger you sold me catches on each side of the tyre.

As I don't want to offend anyone in the GS Club I will post the invitation on the Scottish site.

If I were to post this invitation on all section sites would not this be classed as spamming?

Kind regards

Not enough smilies for you then Dennis.............? :D

With regard to your hugger, I NEVER mix business with pleasure so if you have any problems with any product purchased from my company, please contact us directly rather than on a public forum and you will be dealt with promptly, courteously & professionally, without any hint of bitchiness......... :mcgun

Cheers

If I come will I

be ignored by 90% of the members

told my GS is "not a real BMW and not worthy of a BMW badge"

told how much better their 25 year old 2 valve airhead piece of filth is a much better bike(although they came in the car and no one present has ever heard it running).

Generally made to feel like some kind of working class scum because I also ride a "Jap bike"

Its tempting but I think I'd rather have my other leg cut off :D

Have you had a bad time meeting this group mate ?

Sorry it does read like a bit of a rate

I would like to add I don't know Dennis and it was not his region that gave me such a wonderful introduction to the BMW club. I am sure there are decent friendly guys within the BMW club but the couple of times I have attended different regions I was met with the same feeling. I am guilty of tarring them all with the same brush I know but it just make me :spitfire

In fact i got a warmer welcome at a Harley meeting when I turned up on my GS.
