Love my iPad for travelling, it's robust, easily stowed, stores my pics, use it to keep in touch with home and great for researching places to visit when you can get WiFi. But.... it won't run base camp and will not 'talk' with my Zumo:blast

So I have to plan all my routes before leaving home. Don't mind that, I love poring over maps and imagining what the roads will be like. It enables me to plan complex routes that would be a real pain to follow on a map when on the bike, especially with 1/2 a dozen bikes following you! But it limits flexibility, you know, weather is crap where you're heading so lets find the sun. Trouble is planning routes on the satnav is laborious and has always left me feeling that I could have found far better biking roads. So my question is have I missed something, is there an app out there that will do this? I do have an iPhone with Tom Tom installed, is there something that will work with that? I know the recent upgrade enables you to put in 4 via points but it's not enough. From what I can see the only option is to buy a (cheap 2nd hand) netbook but I don't want to carry another piece of plastic if I can avoid it. Any ideas anyone??

I guess the answer is 'No' then?!

With so many Apple users on here now I'm surprised no one else wants to be able to route-plan on an iPad and then beam it onto a Zumo. I would!:D

Garmin and Apple have conspired and it's called a MacBook Air.

Used mine in Italy last year and works great.
