I have a reasonably old Ipaq 3970 running TomTom 5 that I would like to have mounted on the windscreen support bar above the clocks on my 12GSA. However, it must be weatherproof and able to accept an audio lead from an Autocom and a power lead.

The Otterboxes that accept cables are £60+ which seems a lot for a plastic box but I would be able to attach a RAM ball onto the back of them which makes mounting easy. I've ordered an Ortlieb PDA bag (£13) but I need a way of mounting it securely.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I suggest you look at the thread started by Blowzorn on this subject, he managed to squeeze his 3xxx inside the RAM-HOL-AQ2. There will be a larger version, but AQ1 is still some weeks away.

Check if Otterbox uses a round base (RAM-B-202) or diamond base (RAM-B-238) to attach onto.

As to mountinhg above the clocks, look at Migsel's device plus RAM ball or RAM U-bolt plus shim, RAP-319.

They are 59 EUR from Touratech (art. 01-069-0010-0)

You can have it for 50 EUR including p&p.

Cheers,
