iPhone Mapping - HERE Maps

Having just read up on HERE maps on the BBC web site (LINKY) I thought I'd give it a go

I've just downloaded it and am going to have a play. Anybody else out there already done so? Any good?? Better than iMaps??? Better than Google maps????

If you're an iphone map freak, have you tried 'Forever Map' (free) and SatNav 2 (small charge)? Both use Open Street Maps, and both are by Skobbler. Forever Map doesn't give route directions but is great for maps for places you visit once in a while. You download the maps per country into the iphone memory, so no need for wifi when on the road.

Two other apps that I think are great are View Ranger (OS 1:50k and 1:25k maps bought tile by tile for a modest price) and Steampunk GPS which has a brilliant graphic display to show GPS coordinates. Its worth 69p

another free map app i like is navfree, as with all the free map software its not infallible but very good.

+1 for sat nav 2 it's excellent on the iPhone.
