I do about 300miles a week and would like to be able to listen to music/radio and/or use the satnav capabilities of the iphone.

Is there a really good product out there for this? I'm thinking a powered mount - then either bluetooth connectivity or speakers in the helmet (Arai Tourex)?

Not looked at all yet so thought I'd ask here if there's any one thing that seems to rule.

Adaptunes has a gps sensor that adjusts the music volume according to your speed. I have this app, but have not had the need to use it yet... I'd recommend getting a bluetooth pendant that hangs around your neck & lets you use headphones or helemet speakers of your choice. Someone will be along with a recommendation for these, soon, I'm sure... :thumb2

Get a cheap second hand Autocom Pro 7 or similar for around £50 albeit you won't get power to your iphone/ipod its a good reliable output. I've had mine 6 years on 3 different bikes and its still going strong, as its bike powered you don't have to worry about charging it.

Alternatively if you've got plenty of cash consider the Interphone F4 bluetooth helmet set which has the A2DP function for wireless stereo which is around £180 for a single unit and has decent battery which should last you for a week if you do around 300 miles before needing a charge.

have a look at the Tigra bike mount (weatherproof ) I've had one since April in UK in all weathers and I'm impressed. Be gentle with it and make sure all plugs are closed when in wet weather.

Could probably buy it cheaper elsewhere.

* I'm looking for a power solution for this setup. Powerlink and similar cables from BMW power socket to iphone are good, BUT do not fit into pre shaped cradle on this holder. One solution could be a BMW power socket to FEMALE usb, then use original apple power cable to conect.*

Anyone found a BMW bike power lead to "original apple shaped connector" for iphone?

cheers,

Andy

Powerlet do such a thing http://www.powerlet.com/product/apple-3g-3gs-4g-itouch-standard-powerlet-charging-cable/420 with a plug or without http://www.powerlet.com/product/apple-3g-3gs-4g-itouch-battery-harness/421 I've been using the latter for 12 months and it works a treat :thumb2 all the best james

James,
the weatherproof case I use has a preformed space for power lead to connect to iphone, with only the lead coming out a small hole. I'm not sure looking at this lead, that the docking bit is the same shape as original.
I wonder if I supplied a lead, Powerlet could put a bmw power socket on the appropriate end? I'll give them a call......:type
