ipod question

Whilst riding I enjoy listening to music, and would like to get the ipod wired to the bike and keep it charging whilst riding. Has anyone got this set up?. Has anyone connected a usb socket to a gs 12?.
Any replies please not too technical as it will probably go over my head.

I use one of these.

I've wired a Car accessory socket into my tank bag where all the comms stuff sits...works fine..

I've got a supply off the battery via a simply relay to a small plug/socket arrangement next to the intake snorkel/seat area at the bottom of the tank.

This allows me to unplug the tank bag. The relay isn't really needed, just that I run a few other things off the battery and want to make sure that when I turn the ignition off, everything else is too....

A bit late with this advice , but - you might consider spending the extra on this little tinker.............

12v Supply with power passthrough

It allows you to plug in bluetooth or FM modules while still charging/powering the ipod

So, if you are using a Belkin sport controller (bluetooth) the ipod's battery isn't drained by the bluetooth module.

Just adding to the last, the 12v Supply with power passthrough, plugs into the lighter socket on the car, whatabout if you want to use the 12V supply on the GS? Sorry, I have an Ipod and tend to use it with out charging. Now you have got me interested in keeping it charged on the move, but have'nt got a scooby in how you connect on the bike. Any advice useful?

Just use a Hella plug/car socket adaptor cable.

NippyNorman sells them (they may be cheaper somewhere else?)

mine lasts for 2 or 3 days of my riding use, so i charge it i the hotel, or off the bike when camping.
