I'll get the Apple iPod Shuffle next week, nice little player. Wanted to ask if there's any special technical headphones available that cut out the wind noise makin' music soundin' a little better?

:dj

(That's a technical question, right? :))

if budget is a problem then the sony earbuds are a good compromise - i used them for a year before changing to a set of shure e5's...

Thanks for that link, I use the ipod and portable dvd when travelling ( a lot ) with a set of bose noise cancelling headphones, brilliant on a plane, switch them on and hear the noise totally disappear.

I had a fitted set of earplugs for riding a few years ago but lost them, I've just emailed these guys here for a set of the ones you pictured.

£140, which is much less than I thought theyd be.

Great.

You need to get moulds taken from Ultimate first - they cand send out a kit as far as I know - I went into them and had it done but the ones I got didn't fit onto my ear buds properly so they're re-making them....

Another way of getting music into your helmet is to use speakers, Starcom do a set of speakers which have the standard mini-jack plug fitted and they produce a good sound. To combat the wind-noise I also wear ear pugs which does cut some of the dynamic range of the music but in reality the sound is pretty good, clear enough to listen to the news or a radio play. The speakers cost about £30.

Etymotics fitted to custom moulds.
Etymotics with the standard plugs works very well too in my opinion. Absolutely phenominal quality sound even at 90mph and without the mp3 player turned up to max!
