I've just bought myself an Ipod, but haven't even opened the box yet. I read somewhere that there are 'better' programmes than itunes for downloading/storing and whatever with your music, but I can't remember what the alternatives were.

Those of you already ipodded up... what do you use?

I'm happy with iTunes - it's so easy to use. The "music download" reference may be the integral link to the Music Store website, where you can but tracks from. It's not a "free download" site though - "Don't steal music".

Have a look around http://www.ipodlounge.com/ - iPod's version of the UKGSer site.

Still, I'd be interested to hear others' opinions of iPod software.

Cheers,

Neil.

Itunes, have it on my PC and my Mac, easy to use, easy to create copies of your cd collection...

I can recommend it, it is available free of charge on the MAC site, so you still don't need to open the box:D

iTunes - excellent on PC or Mac.

To deal with the EU volume restriction use goPod (http://gopod.free-go.net/). This will restore your Euro iPod to the full 104dB output of the US model.
