Some of the route includes the WAW..but RoK is also part of the plan.
That's incorrect, the RoK coaches go anticlockwise - Killarney -> Killorgin -> Cahersiveen -> Waterville etc etc. You therefore WANT to go clockwise. It's much better to meet them head on, you might have to give way for 30 secs on some of the very narrow bits, but way better than to be stuck behind them for miles at a time.
Cheers..we are going clockwise so hopefully not too many hold ups.
If you have time on the way back to Dublin you might want to consider a loop of the Wicklow Mountains - Glendalough, Sally Gap and Lough Tay are worth checking out.
Apologies i made a mistake regarding direction of coaches.
the one-way coach decision was made so that coaches would not be meeting each other.
Draw a line between Tralee & Clonakilty and stay west of it for 4 days doing all the bits that Richie mentions

South to North. then turn around and do it the other way and turn West until the end. Dursey Sound and Allihies. It does not get any better....
We are doing South to North but wont have time to go West unfortunately...maybe sort a trip in 2024 with a bit more time.

Sorry, I’m going to have to disagree with you there, even if it is a bit tongue in cheek.
The beautiful roads in the west of Ireland are not the reason I go to Ireland, sure they’re amazing and I ride them but there are plenty of other countries that can offer just as good and sometimes better.
What makes Ireland special is the atmosphere, which is created by a combination of rich culture, rural life and its unique inhabitants.
My favourite part of our usual tour is to cut across country on small roads from Waterford to Galway. We trundle along country lanes, through lovely villages, stopping at weird and wonderful petrol stations and local pubs. Everywhere there’s a friendly greeting and a great chat with plenty of humour.
The old Ireland I knew as a kid is disappearing - when you could get a haircut in the pub, and everyone had to do a turn - you won’t find it in the touristy West.
So, I say, don’t blast through on a motorway to join the other tourists on the WAW - take the old bog road
