Got a week in Ireland coming up..Staying in Carlow as it is halfway between Wife's relatives in Dublin and Cork.

When we are not visiting them, are there any sites that are good for a day trip?...nice roads etc..

any suggestions gladly received.:aidan

There's a Whole Fookin Island of them! Why do you think we live here :aidan!

Johnny Fox's Pub in Enniscorthy well worth a wee run up whilst you are in Wicklow doing some of the scenic runs that someone will be along to point out shortly

Cahir castle just beside Clonmel where they make Magners and Bulmers ciders

Kilkenny Castle??

And that whole coast

The Brownhill Dolmen is worth a visit. 5000 year old burial site. Cap stone weighs 150 tons. Won't take a whole day but worth it. Johnnie Foxes pub is worth a visit but is a long way from Eniscorthy in Co. Wexford full of junk ( antiques ) mind the roads up in the Dublin and Wicklow mountains. Scenery is beautiful but roads can be tight with cyclists busses and wobbly boxes to contend with gravel on many bends and a few weekend warriors tearing along JJH

Two bikes...even better :D

Anyway.... I live reasonably close by and will bring you on a guided scenic road tour if you like.
If this is of interest to both of you, PM the dates your in Carlow etc and I will get back to you :thumb
