Stupid idea really. But last weekend I rode from Barcelona to Reims on Sunday then spent Monday in London, slept in Calais and rode home on Tuesday (it was a long week end).

I Left Barcelona at 4am. No traffic and the drunks still hadn´t returned to their vehicles yet:rolleyes:

5.25am and still nice and dark at the last service station in Spain at La Jonquera.

Oil pressure light came on. The bike was serviced 4 days previously. Nightmare thought,"they didnt fill it up properly". They did, it was just one of those defective pressure sensors. Comes on in the rain. FOrtunately it rained almost the whole way!

One of the good things about checking the oil every 50kms is that I realised that miraculously since the 20K service the bike no longer consumes oil:confused: :)

I guess the modifications that made the 3750kms comfortable were:
The Bill Mayer seat (wonderful)
the tobinator
the fastway foot pegs
the Ricky Bars. Much better and I didn´t have numb hands or need the services of a chiropracter after riding all day.

Highlights of the trip were:

Meeting up with Andy
Meeting Neil (Steptoe)
Getting my lights fitted
Getting fitted up for some ultimate ear thingies (thanks Andy). Also bought a Kriega R11 (what fantastic products they are!!!).
Delux guided tour of Londons, best boroughs li;)

Low lights were missing Uncle Albert (sorry Peter) and not having time to get down to see Paragon and Cookie (sorry bill, Cookie!)

Steptoe, breathing on my trusty steed! (you can just see his backyard in the corner).

right by the motorway, nice rooms, nice people and they fed me at midnight - cost 58€.

Another use of the fastway footpeg.

Lights, camera, accshun! Soo much nicer knowing that you arent going to ride straight off the motorway in the Auvergne cos you cant see anything. Well done to MiGSel, Rob and BTBR - brilliant very well made kit (just waiting for hot weather so the switch can go pop!:D)

Well once I organize the papers, reciepts etc I can call myself an iron butt rider, wont be making a habit of though!

Boundless - you are quite right. Tried to minimise the risk, by not riding like a loon, energy drinks and fruit. Frequent stops and that old trick the power-nap!

Dave - too long. Although I was originally going to Berlin, but I only had three days insetad of four or five and I prefeered the odea of meeting up with some GSers!

Bill - Dont know what he was doing, said he wanted to reboot it, but dont worry I had Neil have an inspection after!;)
