Irregular engine rattle around 4000rpm under load?

35mpg is what I was getting to the gallon when one coil was failing. It sooted up that side so badly it also took out the Lambda sensor. The old coil actually smelled burnt.

Mine has 45K on the clock and was told to expect the other coil to fail fairly soon. I got about 2 miles down the road and the old problem returned. Sure enough the other coil smelled burnt. 2 new coils and one Lambda later and the bike is fine again.

Mine rattles when in neutral, but goes quiet with the clutch lever pulled in.

Can someone hear what I can hear in this clip? What's this horrible ticking sound constantly in the background? Any ideas or is it all imaginary and 100 percent normal like the dealer says?

Noisy exhaust but apart from that it sounds perfectly normal. Very quiet slight tinkle in background but nothing that would concern me and certainly quieter than my bike.

Have you previously had w/c jap 4s?

Isnt that the normal behaviour of a dry clutch. Ducati used to have this issue. Maybe still do so, I dont know.

The Guzzi Breva rattles when clutch lever pulled in but there's no noise in neutral with clutch out. Mine is the opposite way around so Im guessing the noise is caused by the gearbox but damped by load from the clutch release bearing.

The FD wheel bearing is past its best. Maybe its time to send the transmission away and while its down have the subframe powder coated.

Thanks they puts me at ease a bit. It's because my last GSA made none of this strange tinkle sound. The exhaust is the bmw installed akrapovic with baffles. Hated the sound with them out.

Sounds normal to me and just the same as mine when I start it from cold.

Mine rattles (I thought it was pinking) when put under load (typically when accelerating hard in maybe too high a gear). Was told by Dealer that it's the fuel pump and not unusual or anything to worry about.
I'd be interested in the view of that advice from someone like Steptoe

Sounds all good to me, there are a lot of moving parts in there.

Can never understand why people blip the throttle like it's a silky four pot..
