I'm looking at replacing standard horn on my 1150GS with something beefier, can anyone tell me the current rating on the horn circuit - is it just run via the horn push or is the circuit relayed - if so what' s tha max available current at the horn connection?
Thanks
Richard

Horny

Get a nautelous from Nippies, run a new fused circuit from the battery connect a relay to the existing horn connections and connec t th new cablew via the new relay also run an earth to the new horn don't rely on the frame as you need every volt you can get as you've only got twelve to start with loose even one and the current will go up a bit and performance will go down the horn needs every thing it can get more efficiant wiring louder horn. I know 'cos I've done it it is loud!. The std horn on my 1200 is even worse than the 1150 as are the lights! must be made by that pld british company Joe Lucas prince of darkness!

Yes it has a relay as standard. I have twin fiamm-type thingys wired, no prob.

I just put the Magnum one in place of the standard - seems to work OK, don't use it that much especially as I seem to put the left indicator on whenever I try to use it :eek Much louder than the original anyway.
Nautilus appears to come with a relay so presume it takes considerably more current ?
