No takers? Come on, there's a full tank of fuel in it for you.
Mine was fine up until the first service, after which the change up from 1st-2nd was awful and the change from 2nd to third only a little better. All other changes were fine.
I informed the dealer who arranged for the bike to have the uprated pushrod fitted, which was around 3mts after the initial complaint.
I was told after the pushrod had been fitted that it would be around 500mls before there was any difference,I asked why this was the case but the dealer said he didn't know, but said that he would appreciate feedback after the 500mls.
After 500mls there is some slight improvement but not to the "silky smooth synchromesh gearbox" level which the manufacturer claims.
Yesterday and today I have spoken with Motorrad Technical via BMW customer services.
Their response is, that they are aware that there is a significant problem with some bikes but as yet do not have a fix.
They are working on this and are confident that a fix will be sorted in the not to distant future.
In the meantime I was offered a very nice little sweetener as an apology for my inconvenience and assured that the problem would be rectified.
The bike is not unrideable and although it doesn't live up-to BMW's claims in some areas, it's still the best GS I've owned and ridden by far.
It does make me think though, that if a fix has not been achieved then all the new GS's must be leaving the factory with the same problem and they're just going to fix the ones which develop the problem ?
Personally I think they've held their hands up admitted there's a problem and are working to rectify it,which so long as they do so is OK by me,plus I was very happy(for now) with my little sweetener.
