Is a Zumo 500 a 'buy' at £170??

For sale on the board at local cafe, includes City Navigator 2011 (from memory)
I have a Quest at the mo and wondered if the 500 was good at this price?
Would rather have a 550 or 600 but time is hard!!

Opinions welcomed as is any disadvantages of the 500 vis a vis 550

The 550 also has a bigger memory, but nothing you can't overcome with an SD card. Looks like a bargain.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember a friend buying a 500 and finding that it did not come with mapsource software. The 500 was a much cheaper version. If that is the case, walk away.

rubbish, just download mapsource.

Just spoken to the chap and discovered that it is about a year old, been used for a week only, has a ram mount and has NT2011 maps. Boxes included


Agreed to buy it...wife will kill me.

gpsunderground ill be a friend for any updates as will garmin but a tad more expensive

Thansk for the heads up guys,
Reading through gpsuncerground it made me wonder how many of us are using bona fide maps?
gpsunderhand seems to give instructions to d/l and unlock the latest ,maps foc?

Anmymone tried this?

yep, i use it a few hours after every update is released and it works perfectly, either on sd card straight into the zumo or via mapsource.

via mapsource is easy once you follow the walk thrus and get your heard around it.
