I read an artical once ,probably twenty years ago, about a guy who completed the Scottish 6 day on a fully faired press bike. He even managed to tip it upside down on a dry stone wall (road tyres on mud never did work ) and got away with only a few scratches
I like my RT and it hasn't even got its brilliant fairing any more either.
Mine's part of an outfit now. But the ones I used to ride solo where such confidence inspiering bikes it would take a fool not to like them deep down. I do have to say though. The 85 mono was considerably better than the 84 twin shock.
Don't worry, I'm loving riding around on your old one. I even gave a guy on a gixer a hard time on friday he'd get away on the straights and I'd catch him into the corners in the end we got to a roundabout where I pulled up next to him, he looked at me shook his head and went off in a different direction. Bet that spoiled his day
The rt is a great bike, not fast like my blade but if you think about your lines and try to keep things smooth you can ride at a fair lick. It sits between 70 and 90 on the twisters all day long and never feels like hard work. The only thing I'd like to change is the wind roar Off the screen. I'm quite tall and my head just sits in the right place to catch the wind and lifting or dropping the screen makes no difference. Anyone know of a spoiler available for the screen
I'm just trying to ride it like dad did you understand, he wouldn't want me to pussy about like an old fart the only real difference is I wear my leathers with well worn knee sliders just to mes with the sportsbike riders.
Syco
Wunderlich do a small spoiler that attaches
to the screen. Very adjustable, and very well designed.
Got one on my PD, and it is pretty small and
certainly helps.
Was more of an RS man myself-even smaller screen!
