But why go to a BMW dealer for tyres?
Because why pay less at a tyre place that has better stock.

But why go to a BMW dealer for tyres?

Might be a silly question.....

If you use different makes/manufacturers tyres on any vehicle you'll die. It's as simple as that.
It's why i died back in 1985 while riding my laverda jota 800 miles in one hit to the Bol'D'Or while having a Metezeler on the front and an Avon on the rear.
Never seen such list, but, two things: 1. Recommended, and, 2. Not a legal requirement.
So you can't ride your bike then?Look in your hand book. For instance, on my wing there’s a massive list of tyre fitments……2…to be exact, and you can’t get either of them at the moment![]()

Not sure your insurance company will be happy if you have a big claim

Are actually restricting you choice of tyre to those listed by the manufacturer?
I’m down to 2.5mm on the front and I’m supposed to be doing an 800 mile trip next week. It’s not looking good.

I'd do the trip with that tyre without any concerns
Well I’ve tried ringing around to get something else but everyone is saying stick with the recommended ones due to the weight.
Good try, but I talked to dealers and all 3 said if using Bridgestones only use G852 model
If I have to I will, but I’d prefer to have new rubber on.
The flip side of it is that we are away for 4 weeks on the bike . Down to Romania, bimble about, then back via the Italian lakes, Black Forest then home.
So fresh rubber just before the trip would be good too
Did you know that they sell bikes and tyres all over Europe?
