I have recently bought a 1200gs after many years of sportsbikes, GSXR1100, fireblade, R1, 748sp,TLR, etc. I am used to thrashing my bikes without giving too much thought to mechanical sympathy, knowing that I wont be holding on to it for too long. However, I am keen to keep hold of the big gs as, a) it's great to ride sitting upright and b) my mates on the sportsbikes can't believe how hard it is to 'keep up' on the twisties! The one I have bought has been well looked after and is showing 9500 miles. Now, running around with those sportbikes means that the throttle is to the stop and the revs are 'way up there' for long periods of time! - The dealer said that they can be thrashed all day long and they will still last a lifetime, but I'm not so sure. Does anyone have any previous experience of high mileage gs's? Or should I slow down and act my age!!
thrash her, not trash her
