Recently when I come to start my 03 GSA from cold, it fires up but in the process it is a little hestitant to start and resets the clock to 00:00 just wondering if battery is dying on me 
Is my battery on it way out?

possibly, how long have you left it between running it? do you do sort trips? have an alarm?
I start it up at least ever couple of days , theres no alarm on it and its never had a long trip (over 30 miles) for a few weeks now

Cold weather + no battery minder (optimate) + ABS (probably) not a happy mix.
you're taking more out of the battery than you're putting in - simple. but if its the original battery... then 5yrs is a good age.
(do them new fangled all singing and dancing gsa wotsits have abs?)
