Is my Rev Counter asleep???

Sorry about a kinda silly question? But nobody including the Dealer have an idea about following!

Starting the 02 R1150GS (bought new) with 5k'KM on clock, all works well! But the Rev counter does not work till you twist the throttle a couple of times upon each start up! Comes to life after above is completed then never plays up again.

Dealer engineer suggested to live with it as he was not sure where to start with the "alleged fault". He looked at me as if I am being "anal" about the entire matter! The bike never did this about 5 months ago.

Does anyone know of such matters?

Never heard of such a fault Steve, but it certainly is a warranty issue!

Is not your problem, is the dealer's problem!

My bought from new 02 model had the rev counter pack up before the 600 mile service. SPC changed it under warranty with no quibbling.
