I have a 16gb SD card and my camera developed a fault (don't know if that's relevant). If I put the card in a another camera, the camera won't save any pics to it. I checked it with my laptop which told me it fixed a problem (don't know what). 'Properties tell me that about 30% of the card is full but there are no files on it. I can put a file on it on my laptop and can now open the file (before the 'fix' it wouldn't open the file).

I have tried to reformat the card but it fails....

Do I just need to buy a new card?

Does the camera have a format function? If so have you tried it?

Problem is ,if you get it sort of working and take a once in a life time pic and the card packs in:blast

Yup, give that a go.......

I had similar with a card in my Lumix.......the PC wouldnt recognise it or format it or do anything with it, but eventually I managed to get the camera to format it itself, and since then it's worked fine in both camera and pc.

There is a thread here about it somewhere....I guess the camera corrupted the data somehow that the PC wouldn't recognise but was able to correct it itself :nenau

Formatting with the camera doesn't work either. I'll check the make tomorrow. It's blue and red...sandisc rings a bell

Just bough a 16 gb class 10 sd card at Currys. Cost £22.50. Might be simpler in the long run. :thumb
