Is the 1050 Adv a bargain?

I had one for a couple of days while my 1190 was being serviced. Around the city I didn't notice any lack of power, if anything, it was a little quicker off the line. The one piece seat wasn't great, only real issue I had with it.
I didn't mind the cast wheels or other small cosmetic differences, it did not feel like a budget bike. If I was buying new, I would strongly consider it. The price difference would cover a wings exhaust and panniers and a comfort seat (if available for the 1090, I haven't checked the accessories page?).
Best advice I can give is to test drive both.

Almost all of the stuff of 1190 but without some of the modern wizzy bits.

Or are 1190 selling at £10k too?
Are you sure you got that price right as I'm sure they're £10999 otr ?
I rode a 1050 back to back with a 1290 Super Adventure and preferred the 1050 as it felt as if you could use all the power most of the time which you simply can't on the SA
The things I didn't like about the 1050 were the cast wheels and the cheap looking indicators. The fact the engine block and rear sub-frame weren't powder coated was also a bit of a disappointment but not the end of the world. Everything else I liked. It's a kind of less is more bike
At almost £11k I feel it's about £1500 too much but if you can get one for £9995 then why not?
£10K was the price everyone hoped it would be.
i bet 98% of the time, i don't use more than the 96bhp the 1050. i like the paint on the 1050 a lot more than the 1290 too.
i'd still buy the 1190 though

I am thinking the same thing, a really good buy at this price. Similar performance to the 1190 upto 6k according to the reviews, and just a little lighter. Also better fuel consumption. At £9995 it looks OK.
And now (as of yesterday) £8995 otr at Premier Bikes, Didcot

They are now £9995 with a dealer contribution; so they've effectively knocked a grand off the stock. Ex demo bikes are about for £8995 and the dealer I spoke to yesterday asked if I wanted a similar price on a new one? I think they got the price wrong to start with and are now discounting them to sell.
Yes it is good value at £8995 but at £10995 it was too close to the 1190, a few more quid a month or a couple of grand more down got the larger bike.

Oh, as mentioned on another thread, they are also discounting 1190s too! Which is much more interesting.

Whilst I'd agree I'm not sure KTM would. Historically, on their big bikes, they have always been into various 'enticements' that effectively mean a substantial amount off list and it's always at this time of year (the 'season' drawing to a close) that the offers appear to be the best.
I tend to think of their pricing strategy to be one of a premium list price in order to position their bikes in the premium league and then various 'offers' that bring them down to the price KTM actually want for them whilst at the same time attracting customers who think they have bought a bargain. Everybody is a winner (but in reality KTM is the winner, the customer just 'thinks' they are
)It's a fairly common marketing ploy, especially in the automotive industry
