Is the accessory socket on the 1150GS a standard "cigarette" lighter type socket?

I am after one of these for my MP3 player for when I go on trips.....but not sure whether it will fit.

Nope, it's not.

You can get an adaptor from any BWM dealer or from Nippy Norm or similar for about 7 quid, but the BWM type (powerlit or various other names) is different.

If you try a search for power socket, you'll find many pages of info and some good links to suppliers.

no, it's slightly different. might be a called marine plug.

i got a dual plug from motabitz in ferndown that fits both the 1150 socket + ordinary car cigarette lighter sockets.

THIS place has the male and female (standard) BMW type plugs

When you say standard "cigarette" lighter type socket, do you mean a standard type plug or a cigarette lighter type one?

It's actually the official DIN standard 12V plug for outside application. All other bikes are using the wrong type according to DIN and the EC...

Cut the male end off this..............

Bateman - WTF is it? Just a charger?

Its just a charger, but has a USB connection at the end so I can charge, for example, an MP3 player that needs to be plugged into an ISB socket (eg iPod shuffle, Q-BE). thought I could take it on my bike trips abroad.

Wozzer - I also have the Q-BE, hence the reason I was looking at this. Available on amazon - just type in USB Charger. Its £5.49

I ended up buying an International USB travel charger which has a number of different plug adaptors, and a USB socket on. Obvioulsy can only be used if I am somewhere with a plug though.
