Where is the accessory socket?

I'm hiring an F800 at the end of May for a few days and I want to put a Zumo on it while we're using it.

I'm guessing the easiest way to wire it in will be to plug it into the accessory socket; where is it please?

Actually while I'm asking questions...the bars look round so I have assumed I can use something like this - http://tinyurl.com/bv6nu55 (resolves to a page at Amazon) - to mount the Zumo. Is that a reasonable assumption?

And finally, I'd quite like to hook up our heated jackets. Is the battery easily accessible and is there there space under the seat for something like a Fuzeblock?

Thanks.

The accessory socket has a low amps rating, you could use that along with the correct adapter for the powerlet socket. It is located to the left on the center panel near the ignition switch. The best way to do it is to use the spare cable that BMW has usually tucked away near the front of the air cleaner cover. This is provided for wiring the BMW GPS to. It remains hot for a period of time after switching off the ignition key. You'll likely need some sort of connector adapter or something. I will bet that someone on this forum has the same set up you are contemplating.
That powerlet socket with the spring cover, is next to useless for things like small air pumps etc... due to the low amp rating.

That's good information Ralphy, thanks very much. :thumb

Thanks Mike but it's only going to be on there for a couple of days so I was looking for a quick, dirty and easy solution. I won't be carrying anything like a compressor.

The accessory socket can only deliver 5 amps, I'm no electrician but I would think two sets of heated clothing may exceed that: perhaps someone can confirm this?

The jackets will draw a lot more than that which is why I plan to run the GPS from the aux socket and the heated jackets from the Fuzeblock which will be connected to the battery.

(thanks for the picture)
