Howdo, newby here.

Been toying with the idea of an 1150 ever since I had a test ride on one when they first came out. Couldn't justify the cash then though. I'm now thinking I either buy an 1150, or I fit some new bits to the TDM and maybe buy a Super Tenere instead. Though I am tempted by a Sprint ST too.

Is there a buyers guide to the 1150 around here anywhere? ie what the usual problems are, what to look for when buying second hand, etc?

There seem to be a few 2000/2001 models going for around £3500 on Autotrader at the moment which doesn't seem too bad a price.

£3500 for a 2001 1150 is a good price.
TV TRADER,EBAY,MCN will give you a price guide.
pay your £12.00 and become a 'site sponser'.then the whole ukgser site will open incl 'FOR SALE/WANTED' section with plenty of bikes for sale by the ukgser boys and girls.
most being well looked after.and plenty of free advice and info on this site.

Seem to be quite a few on e-bay not making thier reserve price so I guess prices must have dropped more than a lot of sellers have realised. Suprised the Ewan & Charlie effect has bumped the prices up a bit over the last couple of weeks.

there is a buyers guide for sale its called the essential BMW GS, i got mine of e-bay they seem readily available. cost about a tenner plus P&P of course.
hope this helps

i think all guides seem to be out of touch with GS's parkers more than most they can be way out compared to the real world

Earlyish 1200's don't seem to be sellin because people are just asking far too much and there is a glut of them

Yes i agree and i think in the current climate. Most of it goes out the window. There are good deals to be had out there
