Bluetooth pairing is crap, Nav speaker volume in car is crap (not a speaker fault as music is plenty loud enough) oh and every now and then it has a hissy fit. mine wouldn't boot up once and I had to to a master reset and it wouldn't recognise the SD card out of the blue, on and off cured that
I've had mine now since June/July. It went straight from the box to the bike and off to France for a week then straight back around the UK for three weeks. No issues not even once... except when the screen went dark and I kept turning it on and off thinking that my maps had died.... until I realized it was just something it did at night as it got dark so that it doesn't grab so much of ones attention while they ride in the dark. Which is probably why I didn't notice it earlier... because it wasn't so bright at night. I've been very happy with mine so far and have found no issue. The volume is loud enough for me (maybe I got a good one) and I don't pair anything with bluetooth as I don't need to talk on the phone whilst I ride... I ride to get away from the phone! I do find the newer firmware update makes finding the satelites take longer (about 30 seconds) other than that... brilliant!
Follow the link below, it's a 22,000 miles trip done with a 660 using the old V2.80 software. He reports on the Zumo Forum that he is happy with the 660.
I won a 660 in a charity raffle at the GSCUK gathering at Princetown, September '09. As a Garmin veteran (GPS12 (1999), Streetpilot Colormap (2001), SP 2610 (2005) I was keen to see what the 660 had extra to offer. Initially I was impressed, especially the co-ords input with almost as much adaptability as my GPS12 (but not as much) after a couple of snafus on the M1 J25-27 with screen freezing (see thread elsewhere re speed camera proximity alert problems on that stretch...) I had a catastrophic failure last month that I couldn't fix. Garmin have replaced the unit under warranty and so far it has operated without problems.
It does do shed-loads more than my 2610 but, in some ways, I still prefer the 2610 OS. Sometimes less is more....?

I have had exactly the same experience, bought mine (Amazon - £440) and took off to France for ten days, then mucho use in the UK afterward. Only problems were the one's we already know about - like choosing single-track roads over main roads because the unit perceived the minor road to be a quicker route
It's like any other tool, use it in conjunction with your head and you'll get the best from it
p.s. '07 GS Adventure, 20,000 miles so far and its worked without a hiccup - infact it just seems to get better!!
