Been sent this by sherlocks, asked for an 1150 sensor.

Was marked up as a R1100 but doenst look like the connector on this page. http://www.ebbo.org/2av54.php

Before I send it back want to check its not actually a 1150 sensor. Anyone know if this is for an 1150 or a 1100. Any help greatly appreciated.

Richard

Christ, they're lousy pictures, but i've just looked at my spare HES assembly and it does look broadly similar.Try plugging it into the loom socket to check.
Also try comparing the wiring colours of both loom and HES wiring.

Christ,they're lousy pictures,.

That's good - i thought it was my eyes finally giving up.

Don't know about a hall sensor, it looks like the plug from my electric kettle.

:p Sorry about the crappy photos - batteries in Camera ran out so had to use camera phone. Going to try it on the bike at the weekend but as I live 15 miles from where its kept couldn't do that last night.

Ok, I think its a 1150 Hall Sensor.

According to Google this is a R1100 hall sensor:

and this is a R1150 hall sensor:

I have the one in the bottom picture. Which would leave me to believe its for an 1150 only the fact it had a tag on it says "R1100 tested ok" leads me to believe its different. Unless some R1100 used 1150 sensors?

Usually the connector as per Ebbo's site is an 1100 and the one you have for an 1150

But its easy to check lift back your fueltank and look where a wire comes up from the alternator area on the right side of the bike then it is usually cabletied to the vertical tube and meets at the back of the connector blocks on the headstock

Many thanks for the help - more than happy its an 1150 sensor. Will lift the tank to check though at the weekend.
