Is this a 1200 fault?

Hope someone can help with this - When I switch on the ignition, the bike runs through its checks. When they have finished, when I push the starter, the bike starts but the battery symbol shows in the display. After a few seconds it disappears & its service as normal. Is this an indication of a fault condition?

Nope.

Probably when starting, the battery voltage drops below a certain level. Which could then show the battery symbol, IMHO.

Most vehicles don't extinguish the battery light until the revs have reached around 1000rpm, so it doesn't sound like a fault.

You'll easily know when there is a problem with the battery

Heh Heh, it just does that to make sure that you're paying attention

Mine does it as well, when it does stay on means that the battery is not being charged by the alternator (like when the engine is not running but the ignition is on).
