Hi,
Wondering if this sounds a good deal?

The Bike im considering is:

2016 model 1200GS TE Alpine,
Gearshift assist pro (which i probably would have picked)
Keyless (which i wouldnt).
Its new, not pre registered and theyd throw in a free first service.

BM configerator thingy says £15335.

I could have it for £14250.

The GPS theyd let me have for 500

Does this sound a good deal, any suggestions on any accessories to get in the deal? Ive never dealt with BMW before.

Thanks

Although a good discount, I'd get a 2017 model so you don't suffer with a shitty gearbox. I sold my 2014 model because of this and others on here have said there have been changes to the 2017 gearbox which is much better.

Thanks Steve, i rode a GS and GSA last weekend but cant say i found anything wrong with the 'box. Test ride again tomorrow.

Looks good value although I would be pushing for a free or discount on the Sat Nav. My 2016 gearbox clunks into first from neutral but that's it. Sweet up and down the box. Key less ride - I wasn't keen but now really like it. The Alpine white is a nice looking GS

It sounds a great deal, you will have 2years warranty and breakdown assist, I'd go for trying to get a deal on luggage, sat nav I'd make do with a garmin 660 which will fit straight in the cradle and can be had for as little as £240 refurbished unit.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I think the BMW GPS is normally £610 so a bargain at 500.................urrr sort of.
Does the 660 work with the controller on the handlebars then? Forgive me if thats a stupid question.
Im not overly sure about the Vario luggage, my wife struggled with getting on the bike in the showroom with it fitted. I have a full set of Givi Trekker (plastic not aluminium) that we already use on my Crosstourer and it works great for us so considering using that.

The 660 won't work with the wheel unfortunately.

The box on the 16 will be great; the box on my 2014 (15 model year) bike was excellent.

Your dealer should have the 2017 model, test ride back to back with the 2016 model:thumb

Vario luggage is plastic rather than aluminium. You would still need to buy Givi luggage racks which may be a bugger to remove when not required.

There's an 'offer' on the vario luggage with new bikes at the mo from BMW

I paid about the same as you for a lowered 2016 ym GS last December without the GAP or keyless but got a free satnav so you might be able to squeeze a bit more. Rumour has it that some dealers are struggling to reach their targets for this quarter so now would seem like a good time to make a cheeky offer.

Sweet!

And on a GS? :D

I see from the installation instructions that Givi don't supply the padlocks to stop someone nicking your frames and panniers. :nenau

The luggage offers dont look like offers to me £875 for 2 panniers and a top box :nenau

Ok Dude, make up your mind...Do you want them removable or permanent ? The GIVI needs a special key anyway , if somebody wants to nick your gear off the bike they will. You don't need a 3 piece luggage to go shopping to TESCO:augie

Rack for the GS LC, can be purchased cheaper from eBay

Or go tactical for £40 + a second hand rack:augie
