Is this the new 2025 R1200 G/S ?

I like that! Much nicer compared next to fugly 1300

£17+K I paid less for my 2017 Triple black GSA.

£18k for that? 🤪
Appears to have had a chunk of the options catalogue thrown at it...
One in white would do me nicely - preferably with heated grips and cruise control as part of the spec. I'd rather expect those to be included on a £14500 bike but seems like they're only available as part of a £1000 options package. Taking the p***

What about a Paris Dakar style big tank option? 👍🏻

Visited Balmer Lawn Motorrad yesterday. They have a white one in ‘standard’ form which will be their demo and an enduro spec one in the red/sand colour way and 719 options. I specced up the one I’d have , enduro ,white, comfort, Rallye seat and other bits and it came to 17k.
They’re impressive to look at.

Looks nice but £18k

Been to Virtue Shipley at lunch and after having reservations it looked a little long with rake on front forks from photos. In the flesh it looks nicely proportioned, they had White and Sand, both looked very nice, but at 18k would prefer a s/h 1300gs me thinks.
New RT in there as well, talking to a fella who had just had a test ride said it was brilliant. That radar control thing looks big on it though

HP was £11000 in 2005, in today’s cash that is £19393. So price wise BM on the ball. Why is not the same weight as the HP? Missed opportunity.

HP2 was seen as more of a dirt bike so to achieve the lighter weight some rear subframe, passenger pegs, a front disc, engine counterbalancer, among other things were removed. And it was based on the lighter hexhead engine of the time. That engine was strengthened over the years for better durability and this new GS is using the latest camhead version.
But perhaps you're right, if they're making it with a bitty dirt bike petrol tank it's not made for travel so why not leave all that stuff off?

Dry weight of HP2 allegedly 175kg (really? honestly??) and the r12g/s supposedly about 215kg. So it's gained 40kg.
That's middle-aged spread for you...

Allegedly wet weight was 195kg, MEGAMOTO was several kg heavier but under 200kg.

After having the K1600GT at 343Kg fully fuelled the R12 G/S will feel decidedly svelte ;-)

On paper this looked great, in reality and especially in the sand colour it looks like a Chinese offering on one of the defunct Italian brands.
But then I don’t like the 1300GS either so it’s probably just me.
I’ll be sticking to my 18 plate R9T Urban.
