HP was £11000 in 2005, in today’s cash that is £19393. So price wise BM on the ball. Why is not the same weight as the HP? Missed opportunity.

Dry weight of HP2 allegedly 175kg (really? honestly??) and the r12g/s supposedly about 215kg. So it's gained 40kg.HP2 was seen as more of a dirt bike so to achieve the lighter weight some rear subframe, passenger pegs, a front disc, engine counterbalancer, among other things were removed. And it was based on the lighter hexhead engine of the time. That engine was strengthened over the years for better durability and this new GS is using the latest camhead version.
But perhaps you're right, if they're making it with a bitty dirt bike petrol tank it's not made for travel so why not leave all that stuff off?
Allegedly wet weight was 195kg, MEGAMOTO was several kg heavier but under 200kg.Dry weight of HP2 allegedly 175kg (really? honestly??) and the r12g/s supposedly about 215kg. So it's gained 40kg.
That's middle-aged spread for you...
